The challenge
Microsoft wanted to provide communities with a platform to allow Partners and government entities (e.g. local and regional governments) to speed up and streamline projects on the Citizen’s Portal, Intranet and CRM.
Microsoft aimed to create a development community around such a platform to increase the use of its technology. The code of the Citizen Service Platform (CSP) would be open and released so the community could use and improve it, helping it evolve.
The platform had to be set up for such important aspects as multi-tenancy for MOSS and CRM portals, localization, deployment and environment support strategies, multiple languages and accessibility.
The solution
Spenta Consulting developed the architecture for the Citizen Service Platform – CSP - on MOSS 2007 and CRM.
The platform includes templates for creating Citizen and Employee Portals as well as developments with CRM 4.0 to manage citizen services. The CSP also features a powerful integration tool between portals and CRM 4.0.
A few examples of Microsoft technology integrations we can find on the CSP are both MOSS and CRM working with Virtual Earth and all the SDK from Live.
The platform has been developed to Microsoft standards, which include first-rate procedures in terms of security, roll-out, content architecture, experience and user interface design, etc.
